MAEscapes
The Garden's Edge is a founding partner of MAEscapes. Mid-Atlantic Ecological Landscapes (MAEscapes) is a public/private partnership organized in 2003 and sponsored by the Penn State Cooperative Extension and the York County Conservation District.
Goals
Our goal is to establish gardens at the Pleasant Acres Complex that will demonstrate:
- Use of native plants
- Water conservation
- Less fertilizer and pesticide use
- Enhanced wildlife habitat
These gardens will be used to teach conservation landscaping techniques to homeowners, school groups, organizations and the green industry.

The creation of the gardens has been made possible by volunteers from the York County Master Gardeners and donations from other MAEscapes partners.
